Edge Hill Country School is an independent school offering education inspired by the Waldorf curriculum for children from kindergarten to Grade 8. Edge Hill is situated outside the town of Durham, Ontario on the edge of farmland in an original Ontario schoolhouse with two other buildings on a natural playground. We are within half an hour of the beauty of the Bruce Peninsula on Lake Huron and about two hours north of Toronto, Canada’s largest city.

We are now accepting applications for the position of a Grades Teacher, including main lesson and skills for the 9 week period, commencing on January 4th 2021.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team with the existing faculty group
  • Strong commitment to Waldorf education
  • Demonstrated ability to work with the parents to support and strengthen their understanding of Waldorf education
  • Waldorf Teacher Education Certificate and/or Ontario Teacher training preferred

Our school offers professional development opportunities and mentoring for faculty. We have a working Board of Directors and a highly involved parent community. Edge Hill Country School is a non-profit organization.

Edge Hill has a 4-day school week, Monday-Thursday. The salary for the 9 week term would be $4,950.

Established in 1982, the Nelson Waldorf School offers school programs  from Parent and Tot through to Grade 8. Waldorf education has been  growing steadily in British Columbia, and the Nelson Waldorf School is  one of several Waldorf schools in the province. This provides many  opportunities for collaborative working with the other B.C. Waldorf  schools.

Nelson is a thriving little city located in the Selkirk Mountains on the  West Arm of Kootenay Lake in the Southern Interior of British  Columbia, Canada. Known as “The Queen City”, and acknowledged for  its impressive collection of restored heritage buildings and its strong  artistic and cultural life, the surrounding area offers a magnificent four  seasons outdoor playground.

JOB DUTIES:
This position is available for the 2021–2022 school year, with the  contract beginning in August 2021.

The Grade 1 Class teacher has a passion for Waldorf education and for  inspiring a love of learning in children and youth. Key qualities are  strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work  effectively in a collaborative environment. With the responsibility of  carrying a class of up to 24 students, the successful candidate will have  excellent class management and organizational skills.

Within Grade 1 teaching, the responsibilities will include but not be  limited to the following:

  • lesson planning & classroom preparation
  • teaching main lesson
  • teaching track classes
  • report writing
  • attending faculty meetings
  • leading class parent meetings

EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Eligibility for BC Independent Certification
  • Waldorf Certification (completed or in progress)
  • 5+ years Waldorf class teaching experience (preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

EMPLOYMENT TERMS

  • Permanent, full time
  • Base Salary: $43,500 (plus benefits
    and increments for related experience)

The Westside Waldorf School in Pacific Palisades, California is accepting resumes for an experienced Grade’s 1-8 Class teacher for the 2020/21school year. Candidates must have successful teaching experience, be committed to excellence in teaching, and positive and effective classroom management. All Class Teachers are expected to be good collaborators, to have a history of strong, positive communication skills with parents and colleagues, to demonstrate professionalism and healthy boundaries, and to convey warmth and joy. Class Teachers are full-time, active members of the school’s faculty and are responsible for providing curriculum in a timely manner according to the principles of Waldorf pedagogy. Class Teachers prepare and deliver daily Main Lesson curriculum, as well as weekly skills classes including Language Arts, Math and artistic lessons, observing and nurturing their students’ growth and development. They are responsible for the aesthetic and safety care of the classroom and outside environment. In addition, Class Teachers meet regularly with their class families, and work closely with their colleagues. Attendance at school events, parent evenings, and festival celebrations is required.

Westside Waldorf School’s main campus is nestled between the Santa Monica Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. We are fortunate to have both the ocean and the local state park within easy walking access for class outings and learning opportunities. In addition to our full grades 1-8 program, we have four Nurseries, three Kindergartens, and two Parent Child Programs.  Our school enjoys healthy enrollment, and a diverse community with a broad array of life experiences and geographic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Our graduates successfully transfer to a wide variety of both local and out of area high schools.
